Dos Lagos Lodge is located in the Coyhaique area of Chile’s XIth Region -also known as Aysen- the heart of Chilean Patagonia. It is a land of myriad islands, craggy peaks, untouched forests, glacial rivers and pristine mountain lakes.
To reach Coyhaique you will need to make travel arrangements to Santiago de Chile, and from there to Balmaceda, Coyhaique’s airport. The majority of flights to Chile from the US depart in the afternoon and evening and arrive early in the morning of the following day at Santiago International Airport. The same applies to flights from Europe. Balmaceda is served by LAN and Sky airlines and there are at least three flights per day serving this route, with LAN offering some non-stop flights from Santiago.
After picking up your luggage at the international airport in Santiago, a short walk takes you to the National Airport where you’ll board your 2+ hour flight to Balmaceda. Here you will be met by Dos Lagos staff for your transfer to the lodge. Helicopter transfers to the lodge are available at extra cost.
Another option is to stay one night in Santiago and take advantage of everything this lovely modern city has to offer.
· Weather: one thing is certain about Coyhaique weather: it will change! The area is known for showcasing all seasons in one day. Temperatures can range from 5 to 28ºC (41 to 82 ºF) through the southern summer, so ideally bring clothing that will allow you to dress in layers. Rain gear is recommended.
